Wai Yi Chung
Wai Yi Chung is from Hong Kong. She currently studies MA Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts in the UK. Before that, she has been a graphic designer and mainly worked digitally. But drawing has always been her lifelong passion. Recently she developed this visual language, which she refers to as the "entanglement" to express abstract thoughts and unspeakable emotions in her semi-autobiographical works related to her identity and life story.
Artwork 1, Crossing Paths (2023) is a site-specific work for a historical mansion, South Hill Park in England. The work is about the linkage between the place and the Hongkonger identity of the artist which she discovered while researching its history.
