Ilma Mazrimienė
Ilma Mazrimienė is a self-taught artist from Lithuania who explores subtle emotions and life experiences in her work. Human emotions and inner states are the central axis of her artistic practice. Working with acrylic on paper and canvas, the artist aims to convey emotions that are often quiet yet deeply human — such as sadness, joy, and the tension between sensing one’s inner world and ignoring it.
In her works, the face or figure is no longer a representation of a specific individual — it becomes a universal emotional field reflecting shared human experience. Continuing to develop her creative direction, the artist creates paintings in which faces become portraits of states of consciousness.
In works such as Sadness, Joy, Feeling vs. Not Feeling, and Walking, different emotional states and experiences of the inner world are revealed. These works invite the viewer to pause, listen to their feelings, and reflect on inner states and life experiences.
The artist aims to create works that are not specific stories or solutions, but spaces for empathy and reflection. Using color, texture, composition, and the motif of the face, she explores the interaction between the inner self, emotional states, and the surrounding world.
