Artist Bio

Nadhief Ashr (b. 2000) is an artist based in Jakarta, who is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Jakarta Institute of Arts since 2019, majoring in Fine Arts.

In conceptualizing his art, the ideas that often arise are a reflection of experiences, problems, and everyday life in the city of Jakarta. The pattern of life in a big city where everything is fast and monotonous, can be drawn from it basic questions about spirituality, time, emotions, and how to maintain these aspects of life in a fast-moving world. These external things then stimulate internal dialogues concerning self discovery and well being. In the pursuit of transferring fragmented images of the self, his works attempt to portray the reflective and contemplative nature of human beings.
